Mike Klass, Technology Coordinator and Webmaster
Mike is an undergraduate student assistant who maintains the PDC website as well as makes sure all technology used by the PDC is in working order. He currently works part time, and is also the webmaster of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE) website.
Mike is also a product of the San Diego County public school system, attending schools in both the San Diego Unified and El Cajon Union school districts. He atended Gage Elementary from K-4, Blossom Valley Elementary for grades 5-6, Pershing Middle for grades 7-8, and Patrick Henry High School from grades 9-12, where he graduated with honors. He currently attends SDSU as an undergraduate, is in his sixth semester of classes and is currently working towards his BS in Computer Science.
Mike's first big job was in High School as a student assistant for his Information Technology coordinator, Brandon Lemmon. Doing networking and repair jobs campus-wide, he gained a great amount of knowledge in the networking field, and went on to work directly with administrators of the San Diego Unified EdTech program, as well as officials from apple computer, in bridging the gap between active directory and NetBIOS for windows with the new NetInfo system used in Mac OS X. He successfully networked, along with EdTech employees, a Macintosh OS X server with a series of Windows 2000 servers. He worked to create a seamless network between OS X, OS 9 iMacs, and Windows 2000 servers and clients. He now works for the San Diego Mathematics Project, which also includes the PDC and AMTE, as well as other projects at SDSU. Mike is a computer nerd at heart, enjoying the gaming scene and LAN parties, as well as building and maintaining servers. He enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, making short films, maintaining websites, playing guitar, and making electronic music, as well as many other hobbies. You could say that Mike wants to do everything there is to do in life while he is young enough to do it :)
