Mike Maxon, Mathematics Instructor

Mike is a Mathematics instructor for the Mathematics Specialist Certificate Program and the Mathematics Professional Development Institutes. Mike received his MS in mathematics at SDSU and his BS in mathematics and his single subject teaching credential at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He completed one year of Ph. D. coursework in SDSU/UCSD's Joint Doctoral Program.

Mike has worked at San Diego State University as a mathematics instructor and as the supervisor of pre-service elementary mathematics courses at San Diego State University. He taught math at Orcutt Junior High School and Paso Robles High School. During that time he coached tennis, volleyball and chess.

Mike enjoys tennis and an occasional game of chess. Among several cat owners at PDC, he and his wife are the only ones who walk their cat, Dusty, on a leash and take him on camping trips.
